Suppose, you have a category page with a few subcategories under it. Your customer can choose to view products by subcategory or click a on the parent category to view all the products together. However, when showing the entire category you don’t have to present all products mixed on the page. With our extension, you can display the same items arranged on the page by its subcategory, also showing subcategory title for each grouping. In addition, you can configure the number of products to be displayed on the general category page under each subcategory title, rather than showing the entire subcategory range one after another.
New You can now set subcategories’ tree level. When your parent category has more than one level of subcategories you can display your products grouped by each subcategory of all tree levels.

New It is now possible to enable Product Display Grouped by Subcategories both globally for all categories and for each category separately. This way, some category pages can display products in default Magento view, i.e. without subcategory grouping, while other category pages can display products grouped by their subcategories.

1. Unzip the extension
2. Upload your files to your FTP. The extension has the same folder structure as Magento.
3. Clean Magento cache
4. Logout and login again
Configuration
System -> Configuration -> Customy -> Display Products Grouped By Subcategories
To show products grouped by subcategories:
- Category should not have any products
- Category should be marked as Anchor
- Category should have subcategories with products
Important: After the setup please reindex data in magento Index Management.
The extension works out of the box with magento demo content. After clearing cache the categories Apparel and Furniture are displayed with products grouped by subcategories.

Hi, I am wondering about this app. Does it use its own theme php file or it add the block using existing theme file?
I cant see on the screenshots the toolbar. Is it also following the ordering as standard toolbar or you can additionally set it as random for example? (Posted on 1/14/2012)
